Your CF Filter is full of all the essentials you need for a healthy and clean aquarium. Your water will stay balanced thanks to ceramic tubes which host good bacteria. Mechanical floss cartridges sieve out waste and activated carbon purifies the water of any hidden nasties. And if that wasn’t enough, clever algae prevention spheres help keep that dreaded green glow at a minimum. Aquariums are a closed system and any waste or dirt produced by fish and plants remains in the water. The CF Filter acts like a waste processing plant: trapping dirt and removing dyes for crystal clear water, processing fish waste, removing algae and food to prevent algae growth and circulating and aerating the water to maximise oxygen content. The CF filter has a 5-stage filtration system. Biomedia creates healthy water by acting as a home for essential bacteria which remove toxic fish waste. Mechanical floss clears water by trapping fine waste. Carbon purifies water by removing dyes, toxins, heavy metals and odours. The Algaway spheres reduce unsightly algae by removing phosphate algae??s favourite food. Dirty aquarium water is taken in and oxygenated, clear and healthy water returns to the aquarium. Cleaning your filter is a dream; simply flip up the hinged lid and remove the old cartridge, replacing it with a fresh clean one. It could not be easier. Troubleshooting Steps It could be noisy if not inserted in the aquarium water to the correct level and so drawing air in through the intake at the bottom. Filter cartridges need to be replaced because cartridge floss will become blocked with trapped plant material and fish waste from the aquarium and the carbon capacity for removing toxins will become exhausted. The Algaway sphere??s ability to remove algae food will also become exhausted. Therefore, it is important to replace your cartridge once a month to keep your aquarium healthy, clean and algae free. Simply remove and discard the old filter cartridge and replace with a new cartridge.
