MADE FROM SUSTAINABLY-SOURCED MATERIALS: Created from steel, rattan, and brushwood, the Brushwood Nester is both lightweight yet durable. The base has a rattan landing platform with a low dividing wall separating the nesting or roosting space.
FOR USE WHEN NESTING: Ensure the nester is clean, and locate away from feeders to a secluded position out of reach from predators. The entrance is open, but the nest space is concealed behind the sidewall and covered by the roof.
FOR USE WHEN ROOSTING: In cold weather site the roosting hut in foliage, out of prevailing wind, and within 20 feet of feeders.
EASY TO INSTALL: Secure in foliage, hedging, or an open out-building using the supplied coil of fixing wire.

With many of our natural nest sites like large, old decaying trees disappearing from our gardens, we need to provide nest boxes, further encouraging small birds into our gardens and to keep them healthy and happy.

It is now easier than ever to provide both functional and beautiful nesting opportunities for birds in our gardens and outdoor spaces. There really is no best time to put up nest boxes. By putting up boxes in the autumn you can provide much needed winter refuges for roosting birds, possibly increasing the chance of them staying and nesting in the spring. This is a good practice to maintain as a well-designed nest box will only need cleaning once per year. Waiting until autumn to clean them ensures they are not still occupied.

One of the key determinants in how likely birds are to occupy nest boxes is where you choose to locate them. Remember to place nest boxes away from feeders and baths. And never disturb the birds once they??re in the box, just enjoy watching from afar.
